Animal Control Officer Elena Hocking was called out last night to help a dog on the side of the road that was possibly hit by a car. When she arrived, she found a very emaciated dog with wounds all over his body who was unable to stand or walk. He had loving, sweet eyes and was extremely friendly. She immediately knew that the dog had not been hit by a car but was, instead, suffering from terrible neglect. Unfortunately, there were no clues to his past to reveal the life he had led. The only thing she could do was pick him up and put him in the Animal Control truck and take him to the Shelter where she set him up in our grooming room with lots of blankets and a bowl of food. The next morning, she was excited to find him standing up and able to walk!
