This is “Squirrel” now Codie Rae who was dumped in front of Oakland Animal Services in 2006.  Her back leg had a wire wrapped around it so tightly that her leg had become extremely swollen and infected.  I still remember the day she came to the Shelter and the shock of seeing how horrible her leg looked.  She was in extreme pain and we all couldn’t understand how the wire had wrapped around her leg and how someone could wait so long to try to get her help.  Her leg could not be saved – it had to be amputated.  She was so much happier after the surgery!  She stayed at the Shelter for several months while she waited to be adopted.  Finally, Squirrel was adopted by a wonderful family and they added her to the website www.tripawds.com .  She was recently selected to star in Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump’s new video – “Oh Nostalgia”.
