This is Simon and Beatrice. They met at the Shelter and fell head over paws for each other. Their adopters came to the Shelter in September 2009 looking to adopt one dog but just could not separate the identical looking pair….so they adopted them both! They have been sending us regular updates on the duo since they adopted them and tell us the two are still inseparable.

Their adopters recently sent us a letter to celebrate Beatrice and Simon’s 2nd Adoption Anniversary! They say that they are “still playing together like crazy little puppies! They are wonderful with Graham (their human brother) and never far from his highchair when he’s eating!” We love these photos they sent of them!
UPDATE: February 6, 2011
This is an update on one of our all time favorite “Happy Tails.” Beatrice and Simon were two dogs who met and fell in love at the Shelter. Luckily, a couple from Santa Rosa saw their adoption video online and adopted them together over a year ago!
The adopters emailed us to let us know that they added a new baby, Graham, to their “pack.” They emailed us and said “Simon and Beatrice are doing great with him. They REALLY like to lick his little feet and worry when he cries. They have also learned quickly what things belong to him and pretty much leave them alone at this point. Although it took Simon, who loves toys, a bit longer to stop stealing Graham’s stuffed animals. Good thing is that Graham couldn’t care less as they were all gifts that he is much too little to care about or appreciate. “

ORIGINAL STORY – September 2, 2009:
These two pups came to the Oakland Animal Shelter separately but were paired as “playmates” during their stay. One of our dog volunteers captured this sweet video of Beatrice and Simon playing together and having so much fun at the Shelter. They’re just adorable together!
A couple from Santa Rosa saw the video online and came to visit them at the shelter. They wound up adopting the two playmates together! We love happy endings like this.
