We are happy to share that since our last update on cats in EBRPD parks and the EBRPD committee meeting in February:
Nearly 50 cats have been safely removed from EBRPD parks in Oakland and Hayward.
OAS has been supporting Hayward Animal Services with placement of their cats and in creating their own working cat program.
Two additional shelters, Alameda County Animal Services and Antioch Animal Services, have joined the shelter coalition, making it every shelter in the EBPRD jurisdiction being on board to collaborate to help the cats who need to be removed.
Below is a memo outlining the support from eight East Bay city and county animal shelter leaders in support of the EBRPD cat policy that is under consideration at their full board meeting tomorrow.
Please go here to see the EBRPD board packet, including how to make public comments.
