Wow, Mr. Emerald has come a long way! He didn’t come to us in the best shape, but he has made amazing progress during his time with us! Having been dumped in an Oakland park, Emerald was initially quite fearful and shy, having quite a hard time trusting shelter staff and volunteers. But with time, patience, love, and lots of greens he has finally come out of his shell! He went from cowering in the back corner to greeting you at the front of his cage. He could still use some extra time and attention, so he is looking to find the person that can give him the safe, calm, and loving environment that he needs! Emerald shines bright, and he is excited to become another jewel in your family crown.
