Meet sweet treat Kahlua! Kahlua's foster tells us she is playful, loves her belly rubbed, and is food motivated. At 2 years old, she's quite playful and fun but she also knows how to chill out a bit and take herself on a sniffari in the yard when you're busy.
After being in foster for 2 weeks, she has learned how to sit, stay, down, come, go potty, and heel! She is a quick learner and enjoys training and learning new things.
She is showing some leash reactivity on walks, most likely frustration-based since she does enjoy playing with other dogs in playgroup. She will need a person willing to do some training to help her learn to be more calm passing new dogs. Her eagerness to engage with her people and food motivation will help her learn new skills on leash. She will absolutely improve with a little more practice!
Kahlua has been social and polite in doggie playgroups at the shelter so she'd likely do well in a home with another respectful dog. She'd probably also be perfectly happy to be your one-and-only fur family at home. Kahlua is a wonderful companion to come home to at the end of the day and enjoy a neighborhood walk.
