Meet Damian, an extremely gentle and loving dog! Damian is about 7 years old and weighs around 50 pounds. He's in a foster home and his foster says:
- Damian is very friendly with all people and dogs.
- He lives with two other dogs (35 and 17 pounds), two adults, and two teens.
- He is gentle with young children, letting them pet him and stroke his cute bunny ears.
- People ask if they can pet him when we walk down commercial streets and he is happy to oblige
- Damian would do well in a house with another dog or dogs. He would also do well as an only dog, but would appreciate getting to interact with other dogs as he is social.
- He walks well on a loose leash. He is walked solo, and walked with one or both of our other dogs. We walk him in a busy urban environment and he has no reactivity to cars, other dogs, people, loud motorcycles, runners, strollers, etc. He will sometimes stop to stare at other dogs out of longing to meet them, but can easily be redirected. One of our dogs can be leash reactive, but Damian remains calm.
- He initially needed a couple of day refresher course on house training when we got him from the shelter. He is now in a potty routine.
- He has relearned “sit” and “leave it”. He comes when he is called. We are working on “stay” and “down”. He is food motivated.
- He has moderate walking needs. He is building up his stamina and going for longer walks.
- At night we have him sleep in his crate and he is content to do so. He sleeps through the night.
- During the day he dozes with our other dogs in their dog beds, follows whoever is home around a bit, and goes out in the backyard to sniff around.
- We have not heard him bark. Our dogs like to look out the window and bark at dogs walking by the house, but Damian doesn’t join in with the barking.
If you’re seeking a furry friend whose gentle spirit touches your soul, come meet Damian! Get ready for a life filled with tender moments, heartfelt connections, and the unspoken language of love. It’s time to welcome Damian into your heart and home!
