Meet Champ, a 9.5-year-old, 85-pound Pit Bull mix who’s ready to find his retirement home! Despite being surrendered due to his family moving, Champ has a heart full of love and a playful spirit that’s still very much alive.
Champ is described as active, affectionate, and friendly—he loves kids, adults, and seniors alike. Though he's a senior, he’s got a bit of a spunky side and enjoys playtime, especially with toys! A good round of fetch or chewing on a tennis ball makes him happy, but he also loves lounging around afterward.
While Champ has lived with people of all ages, he’s a bit more picky with his dog friends and prefers his space. He’d do best as the only pet in the house or with a well-matched, calm dog companion.
Champ may be a little cautious at first, but once he’s comfortable, he shows his affectionate side and loves to be around his people. He’s looking for a loving home to spend his golden years, complete with lots of chew toys and a cozy spot to nap!
Think Champ could be the right fit for your family? Come meet him at Oakland Animal Services and see if this handsome senior is your new best friend.
